When installing a REX device, 22/6 shielded wire is recommended. In the above diagram, the jumper is placed on the (-) side to operate the maglock.Ī motion detection REX device should ALWAYS be paired with a maglock and must include a PUSH TO EXIT (or REX button) per code requirements. If the jumper is off, the relay is a standard dry contact needing input into common (C). (C) Jumper - Use the designated (+) or (-) board voltage out of NO and NC. NOTE: If using Bosch or WBOX brand REX devices, they need to be set in "Fail-Safe" configuration, so that NC (Normally Closed) and C (Common) work properly. If reporting is not needed in the system, eliminate the green wire shown in the illustration. Wire the REX to the controller and maglock as shown above. (B) REX - The REX is mounted in the desired location with an 18/5 wire from the REX to the controller (18/3 for a non-powered REX).
Maglock hyperswitch install#
When a DPS is required, install an actual DPS. For some unknown reason, it is not compatible with our programming. A bond sensor is a built-in DPS on a maglock.

NOTE: If possible, when installing a maglock, avoid using and wiring up the bond sensor at the maglock for a DPS. Run an 18/2 wire from the maglock to the door controller.
Maglock hyperswitch for free#
(A) Maglock - When installing a maglock, it is typical to install a REX at the door for free egress. This illustration shows the maglock and REX wiring connections to a Single io controller. The sensitivity of the REX device can be adjusted for long-range or short-range applications and includes an adjustable time-delay. They detect when somebody approaches the door, and will deactivate the lock, allowing persons to exit the space. It is mounted over the door on the inside of the door frame. Pair Maglock to REX DeviceĪ REX device is specifically designed for indoor applications and features a passive infrared sensor. (The Reader 1 terminal block can also be used.) Insert and secure the red wire from the Maglock into the positive output.

Remove the Reader 2 terminal block, as labeled in the illustration above.

Pull the 18/2 shielded wire through the opening of the box enclosure, m aking sure the ends are stripped and prepped for installation. When installing a Maglock, 18/2 shielded wire is recommended. The following illustration identifies the location of Cloud Node board connections. The following illustration identifies the placement of Single io board terminal blocks and their basic functions.
